Stone Bridge

In the early part of the reenactment season (2011) we had an event at a park nearby New Britain, CT. Inside the park was a very interesting stone bridge. It is not listed on the Connecticut Stone Bridge listings, but I was very impressed with the structure and made a sketch of it from below the road. As I find out more information about the bridge I will be pleased to add it to this list. JLM

Ship Study (JK)

Posted by Picasa

This drawing of a merchant ship moored to a bouy with the town in the background and a tugboat on the port side of the vessel was painted by Jack Kelly, a well known marine artist. I have attempted in a very small way to make his painting come alive in a black ink drawing. This a a very tiny portion of my program to teach myself how to draw with ink.

Respectfully;

Jim Mathews
