I am teaching myself to sketch. It has become a favorite hobby.

Quinnebaug River Dam, Putnam, CT
Driving around the state the other weekend, we passed over the bridge in Putnam, and the water pouring over and around the dam was breathtaking. Probably much more so than the drawing indicates. I could have stayed there for hours, watching the water pound over the rocks below the dam. JLM

Packerville Bridge Upstream side????
This picture must be a mistake since the Packerville Bridge is a stone arch bridge. In point of fact, the real Packerville Bridge was constructed as a stone arch bridge from the beginning of it's construction. I will be putting a sketch of the real Packerville Bridge on this blog in the future and you can compare the bridges for yourself. JLM
Stone Bridge
In the early part of the reenactment season (2011) we had an event at a park nearby New Britain, CT. Inside the park was a very interesting stone bridge. It is not listed on the Connecticut Stone Bridge listings, but I was very impressed with the structure and made a sketch of it from below the road. As I find out more information about the bridge I will be pleased to add it to this list. JLM
